I tear or cut up a lot of my collage papers. Recently, threw out a ton of papers simply because I had no more room to store them. Use a variety of different storage methods. Like to put cut up papers in large ziplock bags sorted according to colour. At the same time, also prefer having open boxes of chaotic pieces because just looking at them inspires my creativity…..lol. I am nowhere near as tidy and organized as you.

I watch all of your videos and appreciate your work! Could you please provide a link for your deli paper and your favorite rice paper. I recently ordered some abaco tea paper on Amazon and I am not happy with it. It is so soft that it is awful to gel print with. It does collage well and that is its only favored point.

Last time I tried to ‘organize’ I lost everything. Some still can’t find. Happens every time. Thanks for sharing 💐💕. Feel better ❤️‍🩹

Susan, I took a class from Marabeth Quinn and she showed how she organizes her papers. Basically, she uses a Pendaflex file which I did too. I got the folders in colors that represent the papers in them and the cart I bought stores a ton of papers and has a shelf underneath that I use for my unused paper packs, etc.

Sorting collage papers /threads etc.into colours is the bane of my existence 😂 Is it green or is it blue? Is it purple or is it blue! 😂

I, too, suffer from “hyperpaperdemia,” as I have decided to call it. I use a similar sorting scheme but within each color category I separate the transparents from the opaque. I file them vertically in one of those collapsible open fabric bins and it works like a charm! Also I have a waist-height table with an upholstered rotating stool….. it works great! Hope you feel better. I enjoy watching your videos and made some great gel prints using g your rubber band idea!

Organization is such a time goblin for me. I appreciate your ideas. I tried baskets by color... boxes and drawers seem more logical since I won't be able to toos more random things in them if they are enclosed😂🤪 For me it's always a trial by fire....but it is a ggod project when my creative juices are frozen into cocktails 🍸 😉🤭

I am going through cancer treatments and due to the chronic fatigue caused by the treatments, I'm stuck at home for at least another 16 long months! Art keeps me sane! Normally, I work with sculpting clay, but have been wanting to learn and focus more on mixed media. Your videos are fantastic and again, appreciated!

can these be used directly on the gel place instead of the paper?

I have Nova and I find that shaking or stirring is a great idea! It is a very flat paint so I have found in my climate, that it dries quickly on the gel plate. I'm a fast printer when I'm really into it so it does well for me. I can get some interesting textures when leaving "messy" pull paint to dry on the plate several times then pulling. It looks like an old Venetian plaster wall! Can't seem to get the same effect with a glossier acrylic! Have fun!

Thanks for the tips, still have problems with layers, nice color combinations! 😅If it helps, I usually play my TV with subtitles and really low…that solves the music problem!

I'd rather see the prints being pulled on the registration than seeing your roll off sheet. Could you adjust the camera/table set up?

The leaves and masks are my favorite. Good tip to not press on the stencil while blotting paint for an intended ghost print.

So yes I come back every so often to review what I can't seem to get. You have great tutorials. I had trouble with layers with all kinds of paint but have found heavy body acrylic and it works great for me. I think it's a temp/humidity issue. I don't have to wait too long to dr y and layers look great. It's Brea Reese paint from Office Max and is pretty cheap. Thanks for all your great videos!

Very informative! I went straight to the Nova Paint website. I mentioned that I heard about their product from your video. Well done! (Except I agree with a few other posts - the background music is distracting and repetitive to the point of becoming annoying.)

I found that the dark blue marker stained my plate similar to the staining that occurs with alcohol ink. Did you have this problem?

One reason I've never tried Nova acrylics is that none of the art supply stores I'm familiar with sell them-the only place I can find them is on Amazon, which is generally not my first choice for art supplies. Your presentation was very informative, though perhaps a bit late for me in that I have a lot of different acrylic paints on hand, so it will be a while before I'm buying more. I did enjoy and learn from your color mixing.

😎I learned a lot about layering and using a big sharpie. i will experiment with different sharpie colors too since I have a lot of sharpies. Thanks so much for this. The hardest part is probably being patient enough to have them dry.

Hi Susan! I enjoyed watching your experiments in this video. I have seen people using this paint but not often. I took a look at the website and they do have an acrylic retarder that may come in handy if your drying times are too fast. Good luck with the new product!! 🥰

As a full print how would you rough in a black mini frame around the edges like a vintage photo

Hi, I've just discovered your channel and really like the idea of gelli prints. I have lots of acrylic paints but haven't used them in a while. Can you print onto fabric, like cotton or linen instead of paper? I do a lot of slow stitching and this way of printing would create beautiful images to stitch. Also I have to buy the plate and prayer so will get the ones you recommended. Can you use both sides of the plate? Many thanks suzanne😀

Where do you find deli paper? Isn't there a buffing pad? I wouldn't want to use my hands

I use Nova most of the time and really like the consistency for painting and gel printing. Some of the colors dry really fast on the plate. Paynes Gray is one of them so I am curious to see if you find the same thing if you get some from Nova.

Can you lay your wet stencils on a piece of paper to use the paint from them?

I love my Nova Color Acrylics! They dry really fast on my gel plate where I live, so I make liberal use of their Novaplex 235 fluid enhancer or outright mix it up with retarder, depending. The pigment is SO rich in them, and they're made right here in the USA. Each color is clearly described at their web site, so I always know whether I am ordering a transparent color or opaque. And the cost is always so reasonable compared to Golden. Sure ... if you want Green Gold, you will have to mix your own. :). But I love mixing colors! Their customer support is over the top, too. All of this to say, this is me, *raving* about Nova Color! I always think they are one of the best kept art source secrets! So nice to see you using it, Miss Susan! Hugs, deb.

Catherine Raines mixes Nova paints (she uses only blue, yellow & red + Bl&W). Fascinating results!

I love Nova paints and transfer them to condiment jars when they arrive. Beautifully pigmented and work great on the plate.

I love Nova Color paints and used them today on canvas but with collage too. They dry quickly. The pigment in their paints is top notch imo.
